Do AndroidGuys Dream of Google Phones?

bits.blogs.nytimes.com — A blog that caught my attention in recent weeks is AndroidGuys, which has chronicled Google ’s year-long effort to bring to consumers a mobile phone powered by the company’s new Android software.

  • sleze, on 09/06/2008, -5/+3So...I thought Google was supposed to create a phone OS that can run on any phone. Why aren't they working on ATLEAST 2 phones in parallel(1 quad band GSM and 1 CDMA)? Going with one phone that only runs on T-Mobile doesn't seem that much different that the IPhone.

        Its ubiquity comes from the fact that it is running on a Linux platform which runs on most devices. I don't think they particularly need to demonstrate anything. They have reference phones at Google with touch screens and without and with varying speeds. HTC is just going to be first to market with Google's OS.

Google goes for the very bare minimum on everything. Sure it looks good most of the time, but unless they hire a professional phone designer, I sure hope the G-Phone isn't made.
